in an answer (opens in new tab) to a question in a blog post about “performance improvements” for Microsoft Teams, Mark Longton, the company’s group principal program manager, apparently confirmed that the new version would be reaching more users soon.
Responding to a question about Microsoft Teams 2.0 features coming to more users soon, Longton noted, “I can tell you there’s a big allocation of resources to the WebView2 work you mentioned for business users… timeline in this time.”
“Fully appreciate the need to continue to strive in this area in terms of responsiveness, latency, and resource utilization, both with short-term team gains and long-term architectural changes to achieve improvements to the step function,” he added.

Like Microsoft’s desktop client, Teams 2.0 supports calling, messaging, audio controls, meeting management, and native Windows notifications, and now also allows users to resize windows and include the ability to quote responses directly from the conversation.
However, it’s also directly integrated into the new Windows 11 chat app, bringing all your communication tools in one place for the first time, and also integrated into the dock, so you can easily join family meetings and calls. .
