First Apple M2 benchmark appears online, shows performance rivaling Intel i9-12900K

Following Apple’s WWDC 2022 event and the subsequent reveal of its latest silicon, the Apple M2, new benchmarks for the chip are emerging – and punching it.

As seen in Geekbench database (opens in new tab)and reported by 9to5mac, this is the first benchmark yet of the new silicon. It seems to back up Apple’s alleged M1 vs M2 comparison: Apple says the M2 CPU is 18% faster than the M1 CPU, and the M2 GPU is 35% faster than the M1.
