With the OnePlus 10T coming soon, we’ve started to hear leaks about the upcoming Android phone – but the latest isn’t great news for fans of OnePlus and its phones.
Renders leaked via website SmartPrix (opens in new tab)though they come from a respectable leaker OnLeaks (opens in new tab) so it looks pretty reliable. They show the newest OnePlus phone from a few different angles – but show a big gap where a key feature is missing.
While the OnePlus 10T looks a lot like the OnePlus 10 Pro in many ways – it has a nearly identical looking camera, for example – it lacks an alert slider like the Pro version and many previous phones from the brand.
An alert slider is a physical slider that allows you to easily turn your phone into vibrate, silent, or full volume mode, which prevents you from unlocking your phone and going to the quick settings menu whenever you need to change this setting.
It’s a feature that many OnePlus phone fans love – it’s also something you see on iPhones, although when it comes to Android, you’ll usually only see it on OnePlus phones.

Analysis: A surprising feature to rule out
OnePlus’ T-series often takes the form of slightly modified and improved versions of the standard numbered models – although the 10T’s lack of a ‘Pro’ title makes its position obvious compared to the existing phone.
So we expect the OnePlus 10T to miss out on some features of the Pro, but the alert slider is a weird thing to miss. This is a popular feature among fans of the company, so many people considering buying the phone will look for the slider.
Keep in mind that these first renders may only have minor errors, which may explain the slider’s disappearance, but Onleaks has a good reputation.
We’ll have to wait and see when the OnePlus 10T arrives, otherwise, alert slider fans will have to stick with the iPhone 14.
